City of Lancaster

Lancaster is often referred to as the Big Little City and, when you arrive at NSW 2010 you’ll be able to quickly see why.  It’s a vibrant and cosmopolitan university city that is home to around 12,000 students from all over the world.  As well as being well connected to the motorway and railway networks, there’s a fantastic variety of entertainment on offer when you get there.  The city centre has around 40 bars, pubs and clubs on offer, from national brands like Weatherspoons and Walkabout to superb independents like the Sun Inn and the Water Witch, so there’s something for everyone.  And all this is within a 10 minute walk of the campus!

Being close to the centre of the UK, Lancaster is well positioned for Tablers travelling from anywhere across the country.  It’s conveniently situated off Junctions 33 and 34 of the M6 and has a station that’s on the West Coast Mainline bringing most of the country within 3 hours travel time.  There are direct rail links between Manchester Airport and Lancaster, whilst airports at Liverpool John Lennon and Blackpool are able to offer a range of low cost carriers flying in from South West England, Scotland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. And even the Ferry port at Heysham is not far away if you wish to come across the water.
